Who we are

Foster Parent Collective is more than a resource hub—it’s a movement grounded in hope, healing, and the power of shared stories. Our mission is to support, equip, and uplift those navigating the foster care journey by creating a space where real experiences are honoured and practical tools are accessible.

We believe that every carer’s voice matters, and that storytelling is a powerful force for connection and change. Through books, journals, podcasts, and curated resources, we provide space for foster carers, children and child welfare advocates to share the realities of the system—stories of love and loss, resilience and heartbreak, growth and transformation.

Foster Parent Collective offers:

Books That Speak to the Heart – From lived-experience memoirs to reflective journals and practical guides, we publish and promote titles that shine a light on the foster care journey. Our founder’s own story is just one of many that aim to educate and inspire.

Resources That Equip – Downloadable tools, short ebooks, and care-focused content help foster carers and professionals feel more confident and prepared. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, our materials are designed to support every step of the way.

A Podcast That Connects – Our podcast brings together voices from across the foster care landscape—foster parents, young people with lived experience, professionals, and advocates—to share honest conversations that build understanding and community.

Community and Ongoing Support – We partner with The Hope and Transformation Initiative, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping foster carers connect, learn, and grow. Through this partnership, we’re working to build a vibrant, supportive community—one where carers can share experiences, access resources, and find strength in connection. Together, we’re creating a space for real support, shared wisdom, and lasting impact.

Support for Storytellers – We help amplify the voices of foster and kinship carers, adoptees, and advocates by offering marketing, publishing, and promotional support. If you have a story to share, we want to help you tell it.

At Foster Parent Collective, we’re driven by the belief that when carers are supported, children thrive. Every story shared, every resource offered, and every conversation had contributes to a stronger, more compassionate system.

Join us in building a collective rooted in lived experience, dedicated to real change, and powered by the voices that need to be heard.

Murphy Publishing and Media was born from a desire to tell powerful, purpose-driven stories that create real change—starting with foster care.

Founded by author and advocate Danielle Murphy, our mission is to amplify voices that are too often unheard—foster carers, adoptees, birth parents, social workers, and the children at the heart of it all. We believe in the transformative power of storytelling—not just to inspire, but to educate, equip, and advocate for systemic reform.

Through books, podcasts, journals, and practical tools, Murphy Publishing and Media provides a platform for lived experiences to take center stage. We are committed to publishing work that is honest, healing, and hopeful—stories that invite reflection and spark action.

Our first imprint, Foster Parent Collective, is dedicated to supporting foster and kinship carers worldwide through curated resources and heartfelt content. As we grow, we aim to expand into other areas of social impact publishing, always rooted in authenticity and the belief that storytelling can drive change.

This is more than a publishing house. It’s a movement toward connection, empowerment, and justice—one story at a time.
